Began this morning in Alice Springs. Glenn (my angel on Earth) dropped me @ the airport and we farwelled each other. Picked up my boarding passes for the Alice – Perth – Singapore – London – Manchester. Found myself in seat 1A (First Class)!!! for the Singapore – London leg. How fabulous is that!! Caught a 10am flight out of Alice and arrived in Perth @ 11.40am. Caught up with Glenn (OM4tourism) in the Dome Coffee Shop for an hour and then with young Issac and his mum, Louise (former Alice denizens). Gave them some gifts (Issac turns 11 on 21st July). Clapping sticks, a lanyard and an opal pin for him and a mobile ‘phone beanie cover and opal pin for Louise.
Flew Business Class Perth – Singapore. Very stylish!! Dinner was bean salad and chicken for entree and fish/rice and veggies for main. Orange cake for desert. A few glasses of white wind and the movie Watchmen. Also some episodes of Little Britain. Met Clare Walker (Swiss agent who knows Karin Gussman). Now in Singapore QANTAS lounge awaiting my connection to London (running late and now not due to leave until 12.20am.
Stunning flight in First Class for the 12 hour flight. Watched Australia The Movie again, was devotedly looked after, got to wear (& keep) QANTAS pyjamas for my night in ‘the capsule’. Some lovely sleep. One of the flight attendants (gay boy) gave me a bottle of champagne as a gift but I had to leave it at customs – bugger!! Wrote a whole pile of GALTA postcards form my capsule and will send them Monday if not before.
Simon rang about 3 minutes after I checked in and we’re catching up on all the news. He’s having a nanna nap so I’m here checking emails. William arrives from South Africa tomorrow (via Paris) then we’ll all head up to the Lakes District.
