Issues That Matter
Change the bureaucracy.
Governments may come and go but the bureaucracy manages to stay – in a most complicated and muddled fashion that leaves people frustrated and dissatisfied.
My election to the next parliament would see me looking at ways to dismantle the mess and restructure the public service so that it performs it’s role and tasks much more smoothly.
Taking out the ‘middle’ and ‘flattening the structure’is the aim. People in middle management doing a great job will stay – people procrastinating and clogging up the pipeline through inactivity or fear of making a commitment will not.
