headspace Whole of Community Well-Being Model
This model of well-being was evolved via the Central Australian headspace team under the guidance of it’s former manager, Mr. Robbie Lloyd. It’s an idea that all the community could embrace to effect a culture of positive change for now and into the future.
It was a pity Robbie could not stay in Alice. I was so grateful to him for inviting me to speak on the Biology of Perceptions and Beliefs at the Creating Cultures of Wellbeing conference. It is something I would like to continue to do. I believe with this knowledge and understanding, we can transform much of the thinking towards a more compassionate world. It is thankfully becoming more and more publicized with many documentaries on SBS etc on the wonders of our brain/genetics etc.
Robbie’s journey needed to continue elsewhere but his passion, commitment and love of humanity continues to glow brightly across the community. His vision for a bigger and brighter future for Central Australia lives in our hearts and minds. Building a ‘whole-of-community’ well-being is work that is continuing thanks to Val Dearman, Carmel Vandermolen and others. I’m sure your work continues to focus on these qualities as well. I am working with Marie Ellis who is ‘painting up’ The Journey Story for us to teach across cultural groups. The vision and the message is clear across inter-cultural opportunities. This is all very exciting…and I’m delighted to be part of it. Robbie retains a special place in his heart for The Alice and her people. And Alice returns the compliment!!
